Junction Oval, also known as St Kilda Cricket Ground, has long been a key part of Melbourne’s sporting landscape.
In 2018, the venue underwent a major redevelopment, transforming it into a world-class cricket facility and the new home of Cricket Victoria.
The project was led by COX Architecture, Arup Engineering, Cockram Construction, and NUVO Electrical, with L&T engaged to provide essential lighting solutions that would enhance the space while preserving its heritage charm.

The lighting brief asked for a balance of functionality and aesthetics, ensuring safe and effective illumination while minimizing glare and spill into nearby residential areas.
Key areas requiring attention included the exterior wicket, public entry, car park, and the heritage-listed Blackie-Ironmonger Stand.
